I’ve been a big fan of Charles Addams (better known as Chas Addams)
ever since as a kid my father was given a book of his cartoons as a present. He
seems particularly delicious to enjoy at Halloween. Adams drew his first
cartoon for the New Yorker in 1932, and was a regular contributor from 1938
until his death in 1988.
Learn more about the cartoonist at the documentary below, which provides insight into the characters that became the 1960s TV show. In his contract, Addams gave all the characters names and described what they were like.
